Studio Tuition
A reserved place in the studio.
A lifelong investment in music.
Learning music is unlike purchasing a product or attending an occasional class. It is a relationship built through consistency, curiosity, and time.
For that reason, students at The Music Studio enroll through ongoing monthly tuition rather than purchasing individual lessons. Your tuition reserves a dedicated place in the studio each week and supports the thoughtful preparation, individualized instruction, and continuity that meaningful musical growth requires.

Why Monthly Tuition?
Your tuition reserves an exclusive place in the studio each week rather than paying only for time spent during individual lessons.

Like a university course, dance program, or conservatory, your reserved lesson time belongs to you throughout your enrollment. Tuition also supports the preparation that happens long before each lesson begins: planning repertoire, developing individualized materials, maintaining the studio, communicating with families, and creating a consistent learning experience.

This model allows us to focus less on scheduling and billing, and more on what matters most: making music.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you charge monthly tuition instead of per lesson?
Music grows through consistency. Monthly tuition reserves a dedicated place in the studio each week and allows us to focus on long-term musical development rather than individual appointments. It also supports the preparation, planning, communication, and care that happen between lessons.

Can I begin lessons in the middle of the month?
Absolutely. New students are welcome to begin whenever an opening becomes available. Your first month's tuition will be prorated based on your start date.

Do you offer make-up lessons?
Life happens, and occasional scheduling conflicts are understandable. If you need to miss a lesson, please provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible. The studio offers up to two courtesy make-up lessons per academic year for absences with sufficient notice. Additional details are outlined in the Studio Policies.

What ages do you teach?
The Music Studio welcomes children, teens, and adults. Some students are just beginning their musical journey, while others are returning to music after many years away. Lessons are thoughtfully tailored to each individual's goals, experience, and stage of life.

Do you teach adults?
Yes, and many of my students are adults.
Whether you've always wanted to learn piano, are returning after years away, or are looking to deepen your musicianship, you'll find a welcoming and encouraging environment where curiosity is valued just as highly as accomplishment.

What if I don't have a piano?
A quality instrument makes learning far more enjoyable, but you don't need a grand piano to begin. I'm happy to help you choose an instrument that fits both your goals and your budget, whether that's an acoustic piano or a thoughtfully selected digital instrument.

How much should I practice?
Consistent practice is far more valuable than long practice sessions. Together we'll create a realistic routine that fits your life, helping music become an enjoyable part of your week rather than another obligation.

Do you offer trial lessons?
Rather than a traditional trial lesson, I offer an initial consultation where we'll meet, discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine whether The Music Studio is the right fit for you. It's a relaxed conversation designed to ensure that students and families feel confident before enrolling.

Where are lessons held?
Lessons take place at The Music Studio inside Spark & Spell in West Queen Anne, Seattle. The studio is a quiet, thoughtfully designed space created to encourage focus, creativity, and the simple joy of making music.

How do I get started?
The first step is simply reaching out. I'll answer any questions you may have, learn a little about your musical interests, and, if it feels like a good fit, we'll find a regular lesson time that works well for your schedule.
I look forward to welcoming you to The Music Studio.
